AI Usage Jumps to 77% Among U.S. Businesses, Driving Growth
A new global report from Intuit reveals that artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming an essential driver of business growth, with 77% of U.S. businesses now using AI as of January 2026, up from 48% in July 2024.
The report, which surveyed over 34,000 small and midsize business owners across multiple countries, highlights the rapid adoption of AI tools to boost productivity and competitiveness. About 7 in 10 businesses worldwide are now implementing AI in day-to-day operations, achieving measurable results in efficiency and revenue.
How AI Is Benefiting Businesses
The data suggests a strong correlation between AI adoption and improved business performance:
- 78% of U.S. businesses using AI report higher productivity.
- Shortened workdays are a direct result of streamlined operations.
- AI utilization is linked to stronger revenue growth.
Importantly, the report also dispels concerns about AI replacing jobs. In the U.S., 17% of businesses stated that AI tools have supported increased hiring, highlighting AI’s role as a complement rather than a substitute for human workers.
AI Adoption Still in Early Stages
Despite these promising trends, most businesses remain in the early stages of AI adoption. Only about 10% of respondents are currently investing in dedicated AI tools, suggesting significant room for growth in specialized solutions tailored to business needs.
For web developers working with WordPress clients, SEO specialists, and content marketers, these findings emphasize the growing need to integrate AI-driven tools into workflows to stay competitive. Platforms like AI Search Optimization provide valuable solutions for modern digital demands.
